This week's theme: Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds

 This theme is so much fun! I'm a little sad that I can't come up with 10 off the top of my head though. Here are the characters I did come up with!
 

Liesel Meminger from The Book Thief! This girl is fearless and doesn't let the persecution of Nazi Germany keep her from reading books that she wants to read.
 

Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series: her two big splurges are always pretty clothes and more books than she can carry!
 

Jean and Ezri from Red Seas Under Red Skies: They began to fall in love when they started quoting novels to each other. Awwwwwwww :)
 

Hermione Granger, of course! I don't think this one needs any explanation ;)
 

Matilda from the Roald Dahl book. I loved this one as a kid!
 

Scout Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird. 
 

Will Herondale from the Infernal Devices series. I loved how Will and Tessa bonded over their love of books!


Okay, so Devi from Name of the Wind doesn't exactly read books for fun, but she has a huge library and will do anything to get her hands on more knowledge.

    I can't believe I forgot about JEAN! I always try to fit at least one Lynch reference on my lists but he completely slipped my mind. Great choice! :)
    Ooh, Will and Tessa are great picks, too - other than that, our lists are quite similar!

So it's finally over. That was an amazing book! Thank you everyone for joining in and making my first readalong so much fun :) I have said over and over again that Brandon Sanderson is a storytelling god. This book makes me believe it even more fiercely - it takes a mastermind to create such intricate worlds and piece together so many character and plot threads. He does such a great job of feeding you just enough answers/revelations to keep you happy, but keeps you hanging by dangling all sorts of questions for you to answer. Not to mention the bombshells he throws in at the end... Having read Mistborn, I really should have been more prepared for disaster and mindblowing moments towards the end of the book. We've seen a little bit about the differences in what members of different genders are allowed and encouraged to do. I thought it was interesting how things like reading were entrusted only to women, since reading is how you gain knowledge (and power!), and it seems like the men were the ones who wanted all the power in this world. So here's a discussion post about the different gender roles and what some possible implications are. Top Ten Tuesday 51 - recent TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by  The Broke and the Bookish . This week's theme:  Recently Added TBR books I'm pretty relentless about shaving down my TBR every time it hits 50 books, because I know if it gets bigger than that I'll never actually read half the books. Sometimes I shave it down by reading a lot of books that have been sitting on my TBR for a while, and sometimes I just take books off of it when I'm no longer interested in them. Long story short, I add books to my TBR very slowly, so the last ten span from last week to last November :)   Sir Terry's passing was such a sad moment for me because his children's Discworld books made such an impact on me as a child.
