Happy new year, everyone! In the spirit of resolutions, here are some of my book and blog related goals for this year:

1. I have been terrible about keeping my blog updated for the past few months - endless exams and a new job really sucked away all my time. My big new years resolution is to be more on top of my blog!

2. Related resolution, but I am also going to be better about keeping up with my fellow book blogger's posts. I have been good about commenting back when people stop by my blog, but I think it's time I stop by more blogs.

3. My goodreads challenge for 2014 is to read 80 books this year. Last year I managed a record 101, but I doubt that's going to happen again.

4. Another goodreads challenge I'm doing is the A-Z. I'm having trouble finding books with titles that have X and Z in them, and titles that start with Y. Any suggestions?

We've seen a little bit about the differences in what members of different genders are allowed and encouraged to do. I thought it was interesting how things like reading were entrusted only to women, since reading is how you gain knowledge (and power!), and it seems like the men were the ones who wanted all the power in this world. Top Ten Tuesday 54 - Book to Movie/TV adaptations

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by  The Broke and the Bookish . This week's theme: Top Ten Movie/TV show adaptations of books I've read Sometimes movies and TV shows do a great job of portraying the spirit of the books they're based on, and sometimes they really don't. Here are a few adaptations I loved and some that I felt were lacking. Great Adaptations 1. The Hunger Games/Catching Fire/Mockingjay       Stunning visuals, pitch-perfect portrayal of the characters, and just enough new changes to keep the movies fresh. 2. Harry Potter The movies captured the spirit of the books so well, and again, all the actors did an amazing job of portraying the beloved book characters. Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by  The Broke and the Bookish . This week's theme: Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2014 I kind of already did this with my Happy New Year post a few days ago, but why not write down my bookish goals again? :) be better about updating my blog - I'm going to be more consistent and hopefully have more fun posts instead of just reviews check out my fellow blogger's stuff - I'm really good about commenting back, and not so much about checking out other blogs on my own.
